Hazrat Ibn Sirinr said that there are three types of prophets; (1) Strong-willed Messengers, (2) Senders, (3) Apostles. The six types of Strong-willed Messengers are; (1) Hazrat Adamp (2) Hazrat Noohp (3) Hazrat Ibrahimp (4) Hazrat Musa p (5) Hazrat Issap (6) Hazrat Muhammad Mustafag. Senders are those prophets on whom Hazrat Jibrailr brought revelations; which are 313 (three hundred and thirteen) in number.

A person who dreams of strong-willed messengers, is a sign of honor and glory and if a person dreams of Senders, he will win over his enemies. If the people of this village are in grief, sorrow and hardship; they will see well-being, righteousness and prosperity in this world. If the dreamer sees prophets migrating and making bad supplications for the village; it means that Allah will send a great calamity on this village. Its remedy is repentance and turning to Allah.

Hazrat Karmani r said that if a person dreams of a prophet happy in his dream, he will get honor, support and help. On the contrary, if a person dreams of a prophet being angry, it is a sign of sorrow hardship and distressing situation. If a person dreams of hearing something from the prophet, it is a sign of happiness and gaining some knowledge. Allah says in the Holy Quran:

فَبِمَا نَقْضِھِمْ مِّیْثَا قَھُمْ وَ کُفْرِھِمْ بِاٰیٰتِ اللّٰہِ وَ قَتْلِھِمُ اْلَاْ نْبِیَاۤ ءِ بِغَیْرِ حَقٍّ
“And (We cursed them) for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without right.” (An Nisa 4/155)

Hazrat Adam p Hazrat Jaffar Sadiq r said that if a person dreams of Hazrat Adamp, he will be bestowed with greatness and guardianship/ dominion. Allah says in the Holy Quran:

وَعَصٰۤی اٰدَمُ رَبَّہ ٗفَغَوٰی°ثُمَّ اجْتَبٰہُ رَ بُّہٗ فَتَابَ عَلَیْہِ وَھَدٰی
“And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred. Than his Lord chose him, accepted his repentance and guided him.” (Taha 20/121-122)

And if a person dreams of Hazrat Adamp talking to him, is indicative of a teacher. Allah says in the Holy Quran:

وَعَلَّمَ اٰدَمَ الْاَ سْمَاۤ ءَ کُلَّھَا
“And He taught Adam the names – all of them.” (Al Baqarah 2/31)

If a person sees in his dream that Hazrat Adamp has not obeyed; it indicates disobedience and misfortune of the dreamer. If a person dreams of Hazrat Adamp holding his hand, it is indicative of greatness and sovereignty.

Hazrat Hawa p If a person dreams of Hazrat Hawap, he will be bestowed with health, happiness, abundant blessings and a long life.

Hazrat Noah p If a person dreams of Hazrat Noahp, he will be blessed with a long life; but if he sees pain and hardship from the enemy, will eventually achieve his objective.

Hazrat Idrees p If a person dreams of Hazrat Idreesp, his work will be virtuous and Hereafter praiseworthy.

Hazrat Hud p If a person dreams of Hazrat Hudp, the enemy will remorse him and be eventually victorious.

Hazrat Lut p If a person dreams of Hazrat Lutp, his will do righteous work and achieve his heart’s desire.

Hazrat Saleh p If a person dreams of Hazrat Salehp and conciliates from place to place, he will be blessed.

Hazrat Ibrahim p If a person dreams of Hazrat Ibrahimp, he will perform Hajj. Some interpreters say that a cruel king will oppress him and that he will treat his parents badly.

Hazrat Ismail p If a person dreams of Hazrat Ismailp; he will get good news, be blessed with victory and treasure. Allah says in the Holy Quran:

فَبَشَّرْ نٰہُ بِغُلَا مٍ حَلِیْمٍ
“So We gave him good news of a forbearing son.” (As Saffat 37/101)

Hazrat Yaqub p If a person dreams of Hazrat Yaqubp; he will experience sorrow of his sons which in the end will be relieved with happiness.

Hazrat Shoaib p If a person dreams of Hazrat Shoaibp; the enemy will dominate him and than he himself will be victorious.

Hazrat Musa p If a person dreams of Hazrat Musap; he will be arrested by his family, then he will flourish and be victorious over the enemy. Some interpreters say that seeing Hazrat Musap in a dream means death of the country’s ruler. Allah says in the Holy Quran:

وَوَھَبْنَا لَہٗ مِنْ رَّ حْمَتِنَاۤ اَخَا ہُ ھٰرُوْنَ نَبِیًّا
“And We gave to him out of Our mercy his brother Haroon as a prophet.” (Maryam 19/53)

Hazrat Dawood p If a person dreams of Hazrat Dawoodp; it indicates ascent in greatness, kingship, blessings and wealth.

Hazrat Zakariya p Seeing Hazrat Zakariyapin dream indicates obedience.

Hazrat Yahya p If a person dreams of Hazrat Yahyap; Allah will support/ empower him to do good deeds.

Hazrat Khizer p If a person dreams of Hazrat Khizerp; it indicates peace, sustenance, prolonged travelling and long life.

Hazrat Younis p If a person dreams of Hazrat Younisp; he will be emancipated from sorrows and will come out from darkness to light.

Hazrat Ayub p If a person dreams of Hazrat Ayubp; hopelessness will be replaced with hope and there’ll be guidance to obey and give charity.

Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa g If a person dreams of Hazrat Muhammadg, he will get relief from sorrows and debt. If a prisoner dreams of Hazrat Muhammadg, he will be freed. If there is terror, it will be transformed to peace and famine will be converted to abundance. Hazrat Abu Hurairah said that he has heard the Messengerg say:

1 مَن رَاٰنِیْ فَقَدْ رَأی الْحَقَّ فَاِنَّ الشَّیْطَانَ لَا یَتَمَثَّلُ بِیْ Sahih Muslim 2266a, Book 42, Hadith 23
“He who saw me in a dream in fact saw me, for the Satan does not appear in my form.” (Sahih Muslim: 2266a)

If Hazrat Muhammadg is dreamt of being cynic, it indicates lethargy in religion and transgression in the country. If Hazrat Muhammadg is seen in a place where people are pleading him; it means that the desolate country will be inhabited again. If Hazrat Muhammadg is seen in a dream eating something; it indicates giving charity and Zakat. If Hazrat Muhammadg is dreamt of in an area where there is no affliction or hard work; it means that the village will be blessed more, especially when seen in a mosque. If a person dreams of Hazrat Muhammadg being sad or sick, it indicates the dreamers weakness in religion.

Hazrat Karmani r said that if a person dreams of seeing Hazrat Muhammadg at a place or city, it means that there will be abundant blessings at that place, people will be calm and the people of that place will be victorious over the enemy. If any part of Hazrat Muhammadg is dreamt of being less, it means that the people of that place are lax in Shariah; because loss of any part of Hazrat Muhammadg is synonymous to the loss of that persons’ religion. If Hazrat Muhammadg is seen giving fresh or dry fruits to the dreamer, it mean that the person will be enlightened in religion.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin said that if a person dreams of Hazrat Muhammadg with any defect, that defect will fall upon the dreamer. If a person sees the funeral of Hazrat Muhammadg in his dream, there will be a lot of sorrow and problems in that country and if the Prophetg is seen moving behind a funeral, it indicates desire and alteration (bidah). If Hazrat Muhammadg is just seen in a persons dream, it indicates wealth, blessings and guardianship/ dominion. If a person dreams of Hazrat Muhammadg regretting him, it means that he is a disbeliever, as Allah says in the Holy Quran:

قُلْ اَبِاللّٰہ ِوَاٰیٰتِہٖ وَرَسُوْلِہٖ کُنْتُمْ تَسْتَھْزِ ءُ وْنَ°لَا تَعْتَذِرُ وْاقَدْکَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ اِیْمَا نِکُمْ
Say, “Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?” Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief.” (At Taubah 9/65-66)

Hazrat Jaffar Sadiq r said that seeing of prophets in a dream is because of ten reasons:

1. Mercy

2. Blessings

3. Honor

4. Nobleness

5. Wealth

6. Victory

7. Association

8. Power

9. Good of both the worlds and betterment for the people of the village where the dream has been seen.
